Obituary

Wilson Joseph Arthur Beauparlant, known affectionately as Wilson, Will, or Beau to his friends and family, passed away peacefully at home on January 13, 2025, in Hagerstown, MD, at the age of 79, after a valiant battle with Parkinson's disease.

Born on February 7, 1945, in Lac-Mégantic, Québec, Canada, Wilson was a man of quiet warmth and dedication who endeared himself to all who knew him.

He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1966. His work ethic was unparalleled, and he dedicated many years of service to Glessner Alarm and Communications. He also served as a correctional officer for the State of Maryland from 1977 until his retirement in 2010.

At home, Wilson was a devoted husband to his wife and father to his sons. His family was the greatest passion of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Wilson's hobbies were diverse and fulfilling. He had an avid interest in collecting LPs and amassed a collection of thousands, spanning multiple genres. His collection was a source of pride, often sparking lively conversations and evoking fond memories. Wilson also had a love for old cars, finding solace in their restoration and care. His hands were rarely still, as he took pleasure in working in his yard and on his house, ensuring that both were places of beauty and comfort. One of Wilson's greatest joys was traveling with his wife, Lorraine. Together, they explored new destinations, creating cherished memories and strengthening the bond they shared over the years.

Wilson's legacy is one of love, dedication, and the quiet strength that defined his character. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him. As we say goodbye to Wilson, we celebrate a life well-lived and the enduring impact he has left on our hearts.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Lorraine Beauparlant (née Johnson); his two sons, Alain Beauparlant and Marc Beauparlant; his brother, Steve Beauparlant, and Steve's wife Carol; as well as one niece and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Beauparlant, and his mother, Simone Morency (née Mathieu).
