WILMER GALE THOMPSON, 82, of 4854 Red Hill Road, Keedysville, Maryland, died on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Born January 1, 1930, in Riverton, West Virginia, he was the son of the late James Lester and Rhoda Warner Thompson. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marines. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Thompson; one daughter, Dotti Guttry; one son, Steve Thompson; one sister; four grandchildren; and eight step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown on Thursday at 2:00 p. m. Mr. Ralph N. Gehr, and Mr. Daniel R. Gehr will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Graveside honors will be conducted by Washington County AMVETS Post 10 and Marine Corp. League of Hagerstown. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p. m., prior to the service.
