DR. WILLIAM L. WHITE, 49, of Hagerstown, MD and formerly of Bel Air, MD died Friday, August 12 at the Washington County Hospital. Born January 11, 1956 in Hagerstown "Bill" was the beloved son of Betty White of Hagerstown and the late William H. White. He was awarded his Ph.D in clinical psychology from Saint Louis University on Dec. 18, 1986. Dr. White earned his M.A. degree in clinical psychology at the University of Western Kentucky in 1980 after graduating magna cum laude in 1978 from Juniata College with a B.S. degree in business administration and psychology. He was valedictorian of his graduating class at South Hagerstown High School in 1974. Since 1987, Dr. White has been a staff psychologist at the V.A Maryland Health Care System, Perry Point Division at Perry Point, MD. He received many awards for his dedicated service to veterans. He attended St. John's Lutheran Church, was a member of the Eagles Club and the American Psychological Association. As well as his mother he is survived by his sister, Cheryl White Curry of Hagerstown; one niece, Skylar Curry and two nephews, Jimmy Curry and Joseph Curry all of Hagerstown. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 1:00pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD with Dr. Sarah B. Hansel officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
