WILLIAM RAY TURNER, 70, of 51 Madison Avenue, Hagerstown, Md. died on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at his home. Born February 18, 1941 in Jugtown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Thomas L. Turner, Sr. and Lottie A. Rickard Turner. He was preceded in death by his life partner, Viola Burger. He was previously employed with Flameless Heating and Turner Transportation. He is survived by a daughter, Patricia Henderson of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia; two sisters, Iona Alexander of Waynesboro and Gladys Dawson of Hagerstown; a brother, George Turner of Hagerstown; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lana Hawn, brother, Thomas L. Turner, Jr. and his step-mother, Frances Turner. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, Md. Rev. Leroy Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
