WILLIAM LEE SPRANKLE, 79, of 1158 Luther Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland, died Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Washington County Hospital William was born on August 14, 1929 in Hagerstown, Maryland. He was the son of M. Genevie Mosser Sprankle of Hagerstown, MD and the late Raymond Ellsworth Sprankle. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War . He was retired from the A & P Stores after forty years of service. He was a member of Christ's Reformed Church He is survived by two sisters, Beverly Smith and husband, Dean of Dundalk, MD and Barbara Adams and husband, William of Middletown, MD; one brother, Larry Sprankle and wife Joann of Hagerstown, MD; ten nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown, MD. The Rev. Gregg R. Meserole will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christ's Reformed Church Kitchen Fund, 130 West Franklin Street, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740.
