William "Bill" Richard Reno, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Winchester Medical Center.
Born January 4, 1943 in Kokomo, IN, he was the son of the late George B. and Miriam (Varner) Reno.
Bill graduated from Framingham High School (in Massachusetts) in 1961 where he was the class president. He graduated from Western Michigan University (in Kalamazoo, MI) in 1965 and was a fraternity member of Sigma Chi.
Bill recently retired from Unified Community Connections, a local agency which serves individuals with disabilities. Prior to this, he had a long and varied career in numerous fields including human resources, project management, real estate and even co-owned an Italian restaurant. However, he often said that his work in serving those with disabilities was his most rewarding.
In his spare time, Bill served as a board member of Forget-Me-Not Ministries, a Christian based missions organization, and was a member of the Business Management Team at Lifehouse Church.
Bill was a lover of life and a big kid at heart. He loved cars and sports. He often joked about how many classic cars he owned during his life, his favorite was an orange 1972 convertible Karmann Ghia. His favorite sports were baseball (loved the Nationals-especially the announcers), hockey (Go Caps!) and football (Redskins…hmmm). His favorite places were the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay and in his car driving prayer circles around the City of Hagerstown.
Bill is survived by his wife, Kim Reno; daughter, Joye Reno; two grandsons, Sam Goblirsch and Josh Goblirsch
