William "Bill" Edward Reckley, 68, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away peacefully at his home on December 8, 2022, after succumbing to a hard-fought battle with COPD and diabetes.  Born April 13, 1954 in Thurmont, MD, he was the beloved son of Dorothy I. Reckley and the late James Reckley.

Bill loved many facets of life, including, fishing, boating, art, yard sales, auctions, and hunting. Most of these he did with wife, Virginia "Gennie" Reckley, whom he cherished. Sadly, Gennie passed away October 24, 2018. Despite his various health challenges, Bill still loved to take his 97-year-old Mother to Charlestown Casino where it made him happy to see her excited, playing the slot machines. He was a proud Uncle to Madison and Gunnar Summers and loved attending their soccer/basketball games. He was also proud to be Godfather to his great niece. He was an avid painter in his spare time, and now those paintings will be valuable family mementos.

William is survived by his Mother, Dorothy "Dot" Reckley; Siblings, Dorothy "Bonnie" French, Ada "Patty" Lewis, Roxana Summers, James "Buck" Reckley, and Daniel "Danny" Reckley; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.

Per William's request, a private family memorial will be held at a later date.
