WILLIAM LESTER KENDLE, 64, of Greenbackville, Virginia, died September 9, 2012. Born November 24, 1947 he was the son of the late Lester George and Eleanor Marie Kendle. He was a 1965 graduate of South Hagerstown High School and was a member of the South High Band. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1971. He played in the Navy Band. He retired from General Motors, Martinsburg, WV in 1999. He was a member of UAW and an alternate committeeman. He was an avid Nascar fan, a saltwater fisherman and a hunter. He was an antique refinisher and dealer. He published a cookbook "Healthy Eating Made Easy". He is survived by his wife, Beverly Kendle; two step-daughters, Natalie Palmer and Kristian Palmer; a sister, Deborah Sheppard and numerous nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, Md. The Rev. Quentin J. Fleming will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 1107 Kenilworth Drive, Baltimore, Md. 21204.
