William "Pete" Edward Hornbaker, age 96, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025, at Meritus Medical Center. Born on July 7, 1929, in Downsville, MD, he was the son of the late Benjamin Roy and Frances Mabel (Hamby) Hornbaker.

Mr. Hornbaker was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred "Bill" L. Hornbaker. He retired in 1992 from Mack Truck following thirty years of dedicated service. His affiliations included membership with Williamsport Legion 202, and the VFW in Greencastle. He was an above average Duck Pin Bowler in Major League and Commercial A League for over 50 years.

He is survived by two sons, William Divelbliss (wife, Shirley) and Ricky Hornbaker (wife, Crystal); daughter in law Judy Pitsnogle; four grandchildren, Marty Pitsnogle (wife, Robin), Todd Divelbliss (wife Stephanie), Angie Zamora (husband Larry) Jennifer Neff (late husband Christopher); ten great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Pete was preceded in death by his son, Denny Pitsnogle; five sisters, Grace Sterling, Lorraine Nazelrod, Mildred Booser, June York, and Mary Forrest; brother, Roy Hornbaker.

The funeral service will be held at 10am on Saturday, September 6, 2025, with Rev. Tim Fisher officiating, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Burial will be in Park Head Cemetery in Big Pool, MD.

A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, September 5, 2025.
