WILLIAM ALLAN HAMMOND, 50, of 623 Mordington Avenue, Charles Town, West Virginia, died on Monday, November 29, 2004 at the Washington County Hospital. Born March 11, 1954 in Washington County, Maryland, he was the son of Geraldine Chaney of Hagerstown and the late Freeman Jacob Hammond. He was employed by Charles Town Race Track. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Jacob Allan Hammond of Martinsburg, W. Va., a sister, Dawn of Hagerstown, three brothers, Mike Hammond of Hagerstown, Timothy Smith of Boonsboro, Maryland, and Douglas Kelley of Hagerstown. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Chaplain Rick Mann will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
