William Coughlin, 66, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Meritus Medical Center. Born January 3, 1956 in Shenandoah, PA, he was the son of the late Daniel and Jeannette (Jones) Coughlin. He served in the Army with the 1st Calvary. He was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church for 28 years. He loved life and his family, telling jokes, reading, fishing, and sports, especially the Washington Capitals Hockey team. He was a man who never knew a stranger. William is survived by his wife, Cynthia Coughlin; daughter Hannah Coughlin; sister, Ruth Ann Bussell (husband, Richard); niece, Kelly Roberts, husband Roy, children, Chase (wife, Beth, daughter, Reid) and Kadin; niece, Breanne Bucynski, husband T.J., children, Dylan, Dayne, Max, Jake, and Emma; nephew and best friend, Richard Bussell, children, Kolbee and Ryelee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Daniel Coughlin. The funeral service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Steve Robison will officiate. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service from 11am-1pm.
