William "Bill" Christoffel, formerly of Syracuse, NY, and a longtime public health leader, passed away in Frederick County, MD. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Christoffel, and his children, Beth Fisher and Alex Christoffel.

Bill dedicated his career to healthcare, serving as Deputy Director of the Hawaii State Health Department and later as Director of the Washington County Health Department. Known for his compassion, warmth, and tireless service to others, Bill was a strong advocate for those in need.

A viewing will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 6–8 PM at Minnich Funeral Home in Hagerstown, MD.

In place of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Zion Reformed United Church of Christ (memo: "Food Pantry").
