William "Buck" Eugene McCoy, 82, of Funkstown, MD, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown.

Born April 6, 1942, in Funkstown, he was the son of the late Lewis Raymond and Mabel Alice (Hoffman) McCoy.

Buck was a 1960 graduate of South Hagerstown High School. He served in the US Army. He was a long-time member of Virginia Avenue Church of God where teaching Sunday School was his passion.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Margaret McCoy; his daughter, Debbie Pickerall and her husband, Michael; two grandchildren, Hannah Pickerall and Heather Pickerall; one sister, Mary Fogle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Anna Stockslager, and three brothers, Raymond McCoy, Robert McCoy, and Charles McCoy.

The funeral will be held at 11am on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Virginia Avenue Church of God, 17306 Virginia Ave, Hagerstown, MD. Rev. Shawn M. Bushman will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service (10am).
