WILDA ELIZABETH HICKS, 87, of Funkstown, Maryland, died Monday, November 21, 2011 at Coffman Nursing Home after a short illness. She was born on July 14, 1924. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald Hicks. She was a 1943 graduate of Madison College. She was a member of St Paul's Lutheran Church in Funkstown, Md. She was a member of the Washington County Republican Club. She is survived by four nieces, JoAnn Fritter, Jane Crane, Jean Holliway and Chris Watts; four nephews, Larry Snook, Dennis Hicks, Nathaniel Hicks and Paul Hicks; sister-in-law, Doris Hicks and brothers-in-law, Harry Snook. Additional to husband she was preceded in death by her parents. At her request burial will be private, and there will be no viewing or visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Post Office Box 148, Funkstown, Maryland 21734 or Humane Society of Washington County, Post Office Box 367, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740.
