Obituary

Wilda Fay Forcino, 84, passed away peacefully at Doey's House on January 24, 2024, after a courageous battle of dementia, surrounded by her loving family and care providers.

Born on March 12, 1939, in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Evelyn (Wolfe) Lewis.

Wilda's lifelong journey was shared with her loving husband of 67 and a half years, Roger "Bill" Forcino. Their bond and partnership were foundational to their family. She is survived by her daughters, Debra Manning and husband, Rick, and Brenda Embly and husband, Denny. She was a cherished grandmother to four grandchildren, Ashley Shank and husband, Jeb, Christina Embly, Heather Evans and husband, Donny, and Sean Manning and wife, Allie; and seven great-grandchildren, Lydia, Hayden, and Evelyn Shank, Aisiah, Eira, and Julissa Evans, and Nora Manning.

Wilda now joins her predeceased son, Rodney Forcino, brothers, Homer Lewis, Jr. and Gerald Lewis, and sisters, Connie Harbaugh, her twin sister Wanda Magaha, and Linda Hastings, in eternal peace.

Wilda attended Hagerstown High School. She worked at J. J. Newberry, Two Guys Department Store, and was "Grandma" to many children in her in-home childcare. She was a life member at Otterbein United Methodist Church and a member with the Redmen - Pocahontas Ladies Auxiliary.

Wilda found great joy in the simple pleasures life afforded – her hobbies included playing bingo, tip jars, and relishing trips to Rocky Gap. But nothing compared to the love she had for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with each moment shared being a treasure kept close to her heart.

A funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday, January 29, 2024, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Suzanne Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8pm on Sunday, January 28, 2024.

The family would like to give an extra special thanks to the staff at Doey's House for all their wonderful care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Doey's House, 11370 Caring Pathway Lane, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
