Obituary

Wilbur Allen (Dick) Itnyre, Jr., 95, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Doey's House.

Born in Hagerstown on October 2, 1930, he was the son of the late Wilbur Allen Itnyre, Sr. and Doris Marguerite (Snyder) Itnyre. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Louise Ruth Itnyre, and his grandson, Michael Shane Itnyre.

Wilbur honorably served in the United States Army from 1948 to 1950 as part of the 101st Airborne Division. He was a member of the U.S. Constabulary Occupying Forces in Bavaria, West Germany from 1946 to 1952. In 1949, he served as a guard during the Nuremberg Trials. He was also part of the 2nd Armored Division.

Following his military service, Wilbur retired from East Alcoa Aluminum Company.

He was a proud member of several organizations, including the Redmen Tribe 84, the North American Rod and Gun Club, the Isaac Walton League, and United Steelworkers Local 886. He was also a member of Broadfording Church of God.

He is survived by two sons, Ronald Lee Itnyre and Richard Allen Itnyre and wife, Hanna; three daughters, Linda Susan Witmer and husband, Dennis, Cynthia K. Moseley, and Tami Itnyre; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
