Gods finger touched him, and he slept. On October 4, 2018, Warren L. Shull departed this earth at the age of 91. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Virginia; his daughter, Christine, forever Daddys girl; his beloved sister, Charlotte; nieces, Robin, Patty, Susie; granddaughter, Liberty; and great granddaughter, Charlotte. He was predeceased by his daughter, Sharon. Born in 1927, Warren lived a full life doing what he loved. He loved to fish and could be found at the river with his favorite rod in hand and his trusty closed face Zepco 33. When he wasnt holding down three jobs to support the family, Warren, a mechanic by trade, would be outside tinkering with the car. Once when working for Sears, he was sent on a call to fix a washer. The customer was so impressed with Warrens knowledge and skill that he offered him a job and Warren took it. The customer was the CEO of Mack Truck. Warren had a funny wicked sense of humor. His ongoing jokes, teasing and pranks knew no bounds and could drive you to distraction. He lived to get a rise out of people. It ranged anywhere from a garter snake in hand, to putting strawberry jelly on a hot dog at a family reunion. Warren Shull was quite the character and once you met him, you never forgot him. Warren was a man of faith and very active in his church. There was nothing he wouldnt help with. He served as a Deacon, picked up clothing and food donations for their center, shoveled, mowed, cleaned, and took out the trash. Every time he attended church, he brought bags of candy for the children. The congregation called him the "candy man". If anyone would like to donate, Warren would wish you to make someone laugh, make them smile, do a good deed, show someone you are thinking of them and that you care; all things that money cant buy. It is with sincere gratitude the family would like to thank all who cared for Warren, visited him, sent cards, prayers and love and countless other kindnesses. A funeral service will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
