Walter Leo Rung's Obituary
Walter Leo Rung, 81, of Boonsboro, MD, passed away, Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Meritus Medical Center.
Born October 12, 1941 in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late George Peter and Marie Lorrain (Robertson) Rung.
He served in the Army National Guard 157 Infantry Brigade for six years.
Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Andrea Mary (Cramer) Rung.
He is survived by two daughters, Maura A. Hayes and Amanda Sweeney; two sons, Sean Rung and Colin Rung; two sons-in-laws, Bob Hayes and Brandon Sweeny; and one granddaughter, Arianna Sweeney.
Services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Cumberland, MD with military honors.
A luncheon will immediately follow at St. Mary Catholic Church, Cumberland, MD.
