Vonny Louise Hartman, 86, of Williamsport, MD, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD.

Born August 16, 1938, in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Paul and Grace Evelyn (Brookens) Forbes.

She graduated with distinguished honors from Hagerstown High School in 1956, as a member of its final graduating class. She continued her education at Hagerstown Junior College, where she was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa, and later earned her degree from Frostburg State University, graduating with honors as a member of Alpha Kappa Delta. She also completed two years of Bible study at Liberty University.

Her professional career included 16 years of dedicated service with the Washington County Department of Social Services.

Vonny is survived by her son, Nelson Elwood Hartman, Jr.; her daughter, Joan Hartman; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three sisters.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

A graveside service will be held at 11am on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, 17636 W. Washington St., Hagerstown, MD. Rev. Mark A. Sandell will officiate.
