VIRGINIA LEE MASSIE, 71, a resident of Golden Living Center and formerly of 123 John Street, Hagerstown, Maryland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 1, 2009 at the Washington County Hospital. Born March 27, 1937 in Hagerstown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Clinton L. Lapole and Mildred Feigley. She retired from the Washington County Hospital housekeeping department. She was a member of the Maranatha Brethren Church She is survived by two daughters, Becky Wise and Jodi St. Clair both of Hagerstown, MD; five sons, John Massie, Jr., Monty Massie, Clinton Massie and Timothy Massie all of Hagerstown, MD and Joseph Massie of Westover, MD; two sisters, Carleta Sprecher of Hagerstown, MD and Nancy Bowers of Smithsburg, MD; fifteen grandchildren, Kimberly Massie, Betty Jo Higgins, John Massie, III, Jason Wise, Eddie Wise, Joshua Wise, Cheryl Barklow, Loretta Butts, CJ Hewitt, Timothy Hewitt, Brian House, Anthony House, Amber St. Clair, Chelsea Massie and Monica Massie; twenty-seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Shelby St. Clair. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. The Rev. Jay Fretz will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m.
