Virginia Patricia
Hause
Sep 6, 1931 — May 29, 2024
Virginia Patricia Hause, affectionately known as Virginia to her friends and family, passed away peacefully at her home on May 29, 2024. Born on September 6, 1931, to George and Dorothy Koontz in Williamsport, MD, Virginia's life was a rich tapestry woven with love, service, and the joy of simple pleasures.
Virginia's legacy is carried on by her beloved husband of 72 years, Raymond E. Hause, with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories. Her daughters, Diane Lambert (Philip) and Kathy Hause, will hold dear the lessons of love and strength their mother imparted. Virginia's granddaughters, Jennifer Edwards, Jessica Wilcox (Verrazzani), and Amanda Lambert, as well as her very special great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Harrison and Verrazzani Wilcox Jr., will continue to be inspired by her example of grace and generosity.
Virginia's journey began as one of ten children, and her early years were filled with the camaraderie and adventures that come with a large family. She attended local schools in the Williamsport area, where she laid the foundations of a life characterized by hard work, resilience, and a spirit of community.
In her adult years, Virginia had a huge part in raising granddaughters Jennifer and Jessica. Referred to as "Nanny" and they considered her as their Motherly figure. Virginia also supported the family dairy farming operation in Myersville with a steadfast dedication that only a true pillar of the family could provide. Her work extended beyond the farm as she became active with the Myersville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Antietam Motorcycle Club, and the Leitersburg Grange.
Virginia's interests were a reflection of her love for her community and its traditions. She found joy in attending auctions and local festivals, and her heart was always lifted by the live performances of local gospel musicians.
Virginia was predeceased by six brothers and three sisters.
Virginia's life was a testament to the virtues of selflessness, friendliness, and love. She navigated her journey through life with a heart full of compassion and a spirit that uplifted those around her. As we bid farewell to Virginia, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey marked by the immeasurable impact she had on her family and community.
The funeral will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Rev. Mary Jane Norville will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (12pm).
