VIRGINIA L. FIERY, 96, formerly of 1747 Edgewood Hills Circle, Hagerstown, MD, died Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Fahrney-Keedy Home & Village in Boonsboro, MD. Born May 27, 1912 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Maude Rohm Leslie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Maurice Fiery in 1985. She was a graduate of Boonsboro High School and the Washington County Hospital School of Nursing in 1934. She retired from the Washington County Hospital in 1974. She was a volunteer with the American Red Cross Bloodmobile. She was a member of the Ladies of the Elks No. 378, Washington County Hospital Nurses Alumnae Association and the AARP. She is survived by four nieces and nephews, Virginia McCusker of Clearspring, MD, Lester Grimm of Bel Air, MD, Carlton Leslie of Martinsburg, WV, and Lenora Howard of Hagerstown. She was preceded in death by one sister, Susan Grimm; two brothers, Cyrus E. Leslie and Charles E. Leslie, Jr. Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Eric A. Norgard will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
