VICTOR HERMAN "VIC" MCSHERRY, 81, of 106 Southern Oak Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at the Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown. Born October 24, 1927 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Victor H. McSherry Sr. and Ruth Elizabeth Whittington. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years, Anna Mae McSherry on April 13, 2009. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Air Force. He was employed in car sales for many years, and he retired from Sharrett's. He was a member of the Funkstown American Legion, Post 211, and Williamsport Red Men Lodge 84. In the past, he enjoyed duck pin bowling, fishing, and the family beach house at the ocean. He is survived by two daughters, Shirley Ann McSherry Turner and husband, Raymond, of Boonsboro, Maryland, and Linda McSherry Williams and husband, Larry, of Clear Spring, Maryland; one son, Larry "Mick" McSherry and wife, Tracy, of Smithsburg, Maryland; one sister, Ann Burgan of Halfway, Maryland; one sister-in-law, Mildred Stavros and husband, A. James, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, John Michael Williams and friend, Judy Gist, James Scott Williams, Sandy Melton and husband, Mark, Stacey Hose and husband, Brian, Meghan McSherry and Logan McSherry; six great-grandchildren, Brooke Williams and Tori Williams, both of Florida, and Quinn Melton, Zane Melton, Kade Melton and Shey Melton, all of Hagerstown; one uncle, Peter Whittington of Hagerstown; one son-in-law, Raymond Rohrer of Hagerstown; several nieces and nephews; special cousins, Connie and John Rosso of Carlisle, Pennsylvania; and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Lee Rohrer, one half-brother, David Gift, and eleven aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard at 11:00 a. m. Monday Rev. Robert V. Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 6 to 8 p. m.
