Vicki Lynn Bennaka, 63, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Born January 17, 1954 in Charles Town, WV, she was the daughter of Nola Grace (Propst) Frye and the late Melvin Hessie Frye. Vicki left home when she was 17 years old to pursue a career in country music. She later gave up her singing career when her son was born. Vicki worked with First Data for over 17 years as a manager, and TSYS for 3 years in Customer Service. She was a member of Emmanuel Chapel of Smithsburg, MD. Vicki is survived by her mother, Nola Frye of Maugansville, MD; one son, Jesse Earl Bennaka, of Blue Ridge Summit, PA; two sisters, Pamela Nicholl of Hagerstown, and Penny Frye of Odenton, MD; one brother, Kenneth Frye of Rockhill, PA; two grandchildren, Paige and Piper Bennaka; former spouse, Danny Joe Bennaka of Chambersburg, PA; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one sister, Sharon (Frye) Smith; and one brother, David Arlen Frye. Services will be held 2pm Friday, March 17, 2017 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Jonathan Laye will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
