Tonyia June Whorton, a radiant soul who brought joy and inspiration to all who knew her, peacefully passed away on April 17, 2023, in Clear Spring, MD. Born on June 25, 1964, in Greencastle, PA, she was the daughter of Emily (Souders) Mort and the late Henry Mort. Tonyia's journey through life was a testament to her unwavering resilience, love, and dedication to her family, friends, and community.

Throughout her life, Tonyia embodied the essence of selflessness and generosity, always putting the needs and happiness of others before her own. She was a beacon of light, guiding those around her with her wisdom, kindness, and infectious laughter. As a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Tonyia's legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Tonyia's love story with her husband, James Whorton, was one for the ages. She loved traveling with her husband. Their undeniable connection and unwavering commitment to each other created a foundation of love and support that not only shaped their lives but also the lives of their son, Corey Walzl, and three beloved grandchildren, Trey Baker, Trinity Baker, and Jaidyn Heverly. Tonyia's love for her family knew no bounds, and her devotion to them was a shining example of the power of love. She also dearly loved her two Shitzus, Lucas and Chanel.

Throughout her life, Tonyia's strong work ethic and determination were evident in her career as an assembly line worker at Volvo. She approached every day with a positive attitude, ready to face any challenge with grace and resilience. Her dedication to her work and her colleagues was an inspiration to all who had the pleasure of working alongside her.

Tonyia's influence extended far beyond her family and work life, as she was an active and cherished member of her community. In addition to her immediate family, Tonyia is survived by her loving sisters, Dianne Rohrer of Fayetteville, PA, and Christina Mort of Waynesboro, PA; sisters-in-law, Sandi Castle (husband, Tim) of Boonsboro, MD and Barbara Foerster (husband, Bill) of Hedgesville, WV; as well as several nieces and nephews who will carry on her legacy of love and compassion. The bond between Tonyia and her siblings was unbreakable, and their love for each other will continue to flourish in their hearts.
