Thomas William Stenger, 79, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Monday, June 20, 2016 at Meritus Medical Center. Born May 21, 1937 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Thomas L. and Vera Edith (Cavanaugh) Stenger. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Linda L (White) Stenger April 13, 2007. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1963. He retired from Mack Truck in January, 2007 after 46 years of service. Thomas was a member of American Legion Post 42 and AMVETS Post 10. He is survived by two daughters, April S. Stenger and Corrinna L. Poet and husband, Ron; one brother, Raymond Stenger and wife, Beverly; one granddaughter, Amy Kline; two grandsons, Joshua R. Eavey and Christopher Poet; all of Hagerstown, MD. In addition to his parents and wife, Thomas was preceded in death by one brother, Daniel Stenger. A Gathering of Friends will be Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 6 to 7pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Immediately following at 7pm will be a Memorial Service with Pastor Nancy Green officiating.
