Thomas Elwood Miller, Jr., 67, of Gerrardstown, WV, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017. Born April 16, 1950 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Romona (Sprankle) Barton and the late Thomas Elwood Miller, Sr. Thomas was employed with Avalon Nursing Home as Maintenance Supervisor, retiring in 1997. His prior employment was with Bonded Applicators where he served as supervisor. He was of the Baptist faith. Thomas enjoyed hunting, fishing, and taking rides on his motorcycle. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Iris Diane Miller; two daughters, Lisa Benner and husband, Mike, of Kearneysville, WV, and Linda Miller and finance, Jason Westfall, of Falling Waters, WV; one son, Thomas Elwood Miller, III and wife, Crissy, of Gerrardstown, WV; one sister, Ellie Hutzell of Hagerstown, MD; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by step-father, Jim Barton. Services will be held 1pm Friday, January 5, 2018 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Bill Divelbiss will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown, MD. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8pm on Thursday, January 4, 2018.
