He retired in 2001 from GM in Martinsburg, WV after forty-three years of service as a supervisor. He was a member of the Martinsburg B.P.O. Elks Lodge 778 and Williamsport American Legion Post 202. He is survived by his wife of twenty-three years, Janet M. Also, life-long supportive friends, Dexter and Elaine Evans, and his loyal cat, Taco. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Dame Yates and a brother, Charles Lee Dame. Tom was a special guy, beloved by his family and endeared to those who crossed his path in life. He had a committed work ethic, yet a quick wit and a penchant for pranks. His passion was golf, in his prime with a 7 handicap. He also enjoyed fishing or sunny days at the beach. He loved classic country music, Elvis, Dale Earnhardt, the UK Wildcats, the Baltimore Ravens, roulette, and all animals. But his greatest gift was his unique ability to relate to children; he offered them the comfort and trust of his unconditional love. He was our conscience and our heart; his influence has changed our lives. Special thanks to Hospice of Washington County, Washington County Hospital, 3rd floor CCU, Dr. Waheed and staff, and the Equipped for Life group. Services will be at 11:00 a. m.
