Thomas Jacob "TJ" Bender, Jr., 85, of Frederick, MD, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2023. He was a long-term resident of Citizens Care and Rehab Center.

Born September 15, 1937, he was the son of the late Thomas Jacob Bender, Sr. and Mildred Bender.

He is survived by his brother, Michael J. Bender and wife, Nita; nephew, Michael J. Bender, Jr. and wife, Kimberly; niece, Michelle B. Gibson and husband, Gary; and cousins, Allen Remsberg and Robert L. Pellicot and wife, Kathleen.

He attended a day program at the United Cerebral Palsy/Unified Connections, which he enjoyed.

We would like to thank the many friends and caregivers at Citizens Care for their friendship and the care he received for many years.

The family will have a graveside service on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 10am at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in TJ's name to the Frederick Health Hospice, 1 Frederick Health Way, Frederick, MD 21701 or Citizens Auxiliary, 1920 Rosemont Ave, Frederick, MD 21702.
