Obituary

THELMA IRENE STROGISH, 82, of 11208-D Pepperbush Circle, Hagerstown, Maryland died on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Loyalton Assisted Living in Hagerstown. Born August 26, 1925 in Armburst, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Charles Edwin and Myrtle C. Faust Reese. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Joseph Strogish in 1985. She was employed with R.C.A. in Meadow Lands, Pennsylvania for twenty-seven years, retiring in 1979. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She was a member of the American Legion, Morris Frock Post 42 Auxiliary, the Haven Road Senior Citizens, The Catholic Golden Age Club, a former member of the Golden Age Club, and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. She is survived by four daughters, M. June Datum and her husband Bill (Bud) of Hagerstown, Irene M. Hesse of Salem, Massachusetts, Deborah A. Harmon of Wauregan, Connecticut, and Michelle D. Barron and her husband Jay of Hickory, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Nikki M. Manning of Salem, Massachusetts, Christina L. Hines of Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, Michael E. Harmon and Aaron W. Harmon of Wauregan, Connecticut, Michael A. Baronio of Hickory, Pennsylvania, Zachary J. Barron of Hickory, Pennsylvania; three great-grandchildren, Cassandra L. Hines and Cage J. Hines of Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, and Angelina M. Baronio of Butler County, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Olive Reese and Helen Bachmann; two brothers, Albert Reese and Joseph Himler; and one grandson, August Thomas Baronio III. The family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard on Monday from 6 to 8 p. m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a. m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 17630 Virginia Avenue, Hagerstown. Maryland. Rev. Christopher Moore will be celebrant. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Wednesday at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in McMurray, Pennsylvania. The family will receive friends one-half hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland 21742 or the American Cancer Society, 1037 Haven Road, Hagerstown, Maryland 2l740.
