Obituary

Terry Ellis Karn, age 81, a lifelong resident of Hagerstown, MD, passed away peacefully at his home on August 11, 2025, with his loving wife holding his hand. Born on July 10, 1944, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Frances Anita (Nigh) Karn.

He shared a beautiful marriage with his loving wife, Donna Karn, who together created a blended family filled with joy and affection for 19 years. Terry's legacy will live on in his daughters, Tiffany Reiff and husband Jamie, and Traci Flynn and husband John, as well as in his stepchildren, Chaz Reynolds and wife Jeanette, Christopher Forker, and Jennifer Cordell and husband Tom. He was Grandad to each of his 12 grandchildren - Katelyn, Cameron, John Dillon, Kelsey, Collin, Rowan, Tristan, Donna-Marie, Margot, Logan, Leighton, and Teagan. Terry was the brother of Douglas Karn and his wife Helen, and to Charles Kirk Karn.

Terry was a veteran, serving 6 years as a SP5 in the U. S. Army Reserves and received the Sharpshooter Badge. He was a member of Hancock American Legion Post 26 and St. Ann Catholic Church.

A farmer by trade, he loved immersing himself in nature, whether it was during his hunting excursions, or the exploratory joy of travel that brought him to new places and adventures. His love for his motorcycles was more than a hobby; it represented a sense of freedom and the thrill of the road that he cherished deeply. Terry was also a Licensed Real Estate Broker and owned a Real Estate Company with his brother.

Although we mourn the loss of Terry Ellis Karn, we also celebrate an extraordinary life well-lived. As we say goodbye, we find comfort in our cherished memories and in knowing that his spirit will continue to guide us. We honor Terry best by living our lives to the fullest, just as he did, with love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the blessings around us. His life was a journey that impacted many, and his story will continue to be told through the generations that follow. Rest in peace, Terry, until we meet again.
