SUZETTE (Sue) MARIE SLEEPER, 71, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away peacefully Friday, September 1, 2017 surrounded by her family at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born July 14, 1946 in New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anne (Buckovinsky) Betsko. Sue was an active member of St. Josephs Catholic Church and was very thankful for her church family. She was a daycare provider and truly enjoyed working with children. Sue is survived by her husband of forty-two years, Alan Sleeper; two daughters, Nicole Rappaport and husband, Jason of Hagerstown and Denise Bordeau and husband, Jim of Boca Raton, FL; one son, Steven Sleeper and wife, Mary of Port Charlotte, FL; one brother, Thomas Betsko and wife, Franny, of Toms River, NJ; eight grandchildren, Lauren, Adam, Christina, Alyssa, Greg, Alydia, Zachary and Alexander; and two great grandchildren, Aleena and Ben along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and daycare children. In addition to her parents Sue was preceded in death by her sister Barbara Dendis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 17630 Virginia Avenue, Hagerstown, with the Rev. John Jicah as celebrant. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown, Monday, September 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. A Christian Wake will be held at 4 p.m. The family appreciates the compassion and loving care provided by oncologist Dr. Bazzi and his staff as well as Hospice of Washington County.
