Obituary

SUSAN MARIE SCHOENBERG HULTSCH, 63, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 after a long courageous battle against cancer. Born Easter Sunday, March 25, 1951 in Camden, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Karl Henry Schoenberg and E. Marie Baker Schoenberg. Susan was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Edward Paul Hultsch on February 18, 2008. She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church since 1971. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and voted Woman of the Year 2008. She founded Widows' Might Ministry at Otterbein. She was a member of the Short Term Studies Class, and the Sanctuary Choir, and was a certified Lay Servant. She taught Sunday School for over 40 years for all ages. Susan retired from Susquehanna Bank in 2014. She is survived by her children, Cinnamon and Brian Shay of Hagerstown, Ginger and Russell Giles of Fairplay, Anni Hultsch of Frederick, and Angelica and Kevin Shaw of Frederick; three brothers, Alfred Schoenberg of NJ, Joseph Baker of FL, and Hugo Schoenberg of PA; three grandchildren, Ariah Giles, Hadley Giles and Tanner Shay; two step-grandsons, Timothy and Kevin Shaw; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Susan was preceded in death by one sister, Joanne Bruynell in 2000. The funeral service will be held 11am, Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 108 E. Franklin St., Hagerstown, MD. Rev. Dr. Stephen D. Robison will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. They will also receive friends, Monday from 4pm-7pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Memorial donations may be made to Otterbein United Methodist Church, 108 E.
