STEVEN CHRISTOPHER RAMSEY, SR., 71, of Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Monday, March 26, 2012 at his home. Born May 17, 1940, in Bassett, Virginia, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Cordia B. Hudson Ramsey. He was employed by Mack Truck/Volvo, for thirty-four years, as a mill wright, from 1974 to present. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 171. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved fishing, and enjoyed classic cars and hot rods, including his 1965 Chevy Nova. He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene Ramsey of forty years; one daughter, Crissy Ramsey, and fianc Tommy; five sons, Steven Ramsey, Jr. and wife, Tonya, James Ramsey, Timothy M. Ramsey, and wife, Jamie, Bo Ramsey, and wife, Amanda, and Matthew Ramsey; two sisters, Marie Mongan, and Diane Miller, and husband, Elwood; two brothers, Charles Ramsey, and James Ramsey; mother-in-law, Betty Hose; brother-in-law, Floyd Hose, and wife, Brenda; sister-in-law, Kathy Torvin, and husband, Jim; many loving nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Cody (dog). He was also a loving grandfather of thirteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Cindy K. Ramsey, and father-in-law, Donald Lee Hose. Funeral services will be held at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown on Friday at 1:00 p. m. The Rev. Robert V. Robinson will officiate. Following the services, he will be cremated. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 7 to 9 p. m.
