He remained in close contact with his "band of brothers," Ronnie Souders, Jimmy Stevens, Willie Seilhamer, and Brent Baily. Stephen was very proud of his military service, which he and his "band of brothers" celebrated with annual golf trips for 22 consecutive years.
Everyone had their favorite Stephen Nye story. To know him was to love him – he was always sharply dressed and lovingly referred to as "The Professional." Stephen loved spending time with his grandchildren. He hosted many porch parties eating hardshell crabs and telling stories. He was an outstanding poker player and proud founder of the Tennebrook Country Club. He loved to travel and spend time with friends and family. Stephen loved music and going to concerts, parades, and being outdoors.
