STEPHEN KENT MITCHELL, 47, of 11944 Comanche Drive, Smithsburg, Maryland, was welcomed into God's arms on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Meritus Medical Center. Born August 27, 1964, in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of Connie L. Pauley of Smithsburg, Maryland, and the late Stephen Emory Mitchell. He had interests in the Civil War, Elvis, nature, and history. He was a member of Turning Point of Washington County. In addition to his mother, he is survived by one brother, Todd Mitchell, and wife, Tracy, of Hagerstown; maternal grandfather, Richard F. Jordan of Hagerstown; one nephew, Dylan Mitchell of Hagerstown; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Hazel Jordan, and paternal grandparents, Roland and Betty Layman. Funeral services will be held at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown on Tuesday at 11:00 a. m. The Rev. Robert V. Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 7 to 9 p. m.
