SHIRLEY JANE WYAND, 78, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at her home. Born December 23, 1935 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Dorthy Reed. Shirley and her husband raised their family at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Later in life began attending Maugansville Bible Brethren Church. She was employed for 15 years by A&P supermarket. She also worked for Town & Country supermarket from which she retired. Shirley was the beloved wife of Richard "Whitey" S. Wyand Sr. for sixty years, and a devoted and cherished mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Richard Wyand Sr.; one daughter, Vicki Miller and husband Rodney; one son, Richard "Rick" Wyand and loved one Brenda; two granddaughters, Cheree R. Jakoby and Husband Jeremy, Kara M. Ebersole; one grandson, Jesse A. Wyand and wife Jessica; three great grandsons, Trey A. Ebersole, Ryan E. Jakoby and Cameron J. Wyand; one great granddaughter, Megan L. Jakoby; three sisters, Dixie Ferguson and husband Sam, Judy Miner, and Patsy Henry; two brothers, Kenny Reed and Bill Reed; brother-in-law George Wyand and wife Diane; and a very dear and special friend Carolyn Owens. Shirley is proceeded in death by her beloved son, Terry A Wyand, on October 30, 2005; a sister, Thelma Ritchie; one brother Jesse "Tim" Reed. Services will be held Saturday, March 8, 10:00am at Maugansville Bible Brethren Church, 17904 Binkley Ave. Maugansville, MD. Pastor Sean Coffey, Pastor Dick Heckman, and The Rev. Stan Steele will officiate. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery.
