SHIRLEY ELAINE WILLIAMS, 81, of Hagerstown, MD, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Meritus Medical Center. Born April 6, 1936 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Raymond William and Ethel Glendora Hammond Knode. Shirley graduated from Hagerstown High School. She retired from Mack Truck/Volvo. Shirley was a member of the Ladies of the Elks 378, VFW, Greencastle Post 6319 Ladies Auxiliary, Redmen Red Feather Council 59, Women of the Moose, Mercersburg Chapter 830, F.O.E. Auxiliary 694, Funkstown American Legion Post 211 Auxiliary, Blue & Grey Model T Ford Club and Amvets Post 10 Auxiliary. Shirley was preceded in death by her first husband, Roger E. Reed and her second husband, James Hoit Williams. She is survived by a son, Alan Reed and companion Gayle Brown; a sister, Nancy Plotner; two brothers, Richard "Dick" Knode and wife Andrea and Fred Knode; four grandchildren, Hannah Reed Fisher and husband, John, Kevin Jamison, Jesse Reed and wife, Morgan and Nicholas Reed; two great grandchildren, Iris Fisher and Jolie Reed and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, Shirley was preceded in death by a son, Tony Reed and a brother, William R. Knode. Services will be held at 1 pm, Friday, July 28, 2017 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Randall Reid will officiate. Burial will be in Bakersville Cemetery, Bakersville, MD. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 pm., Thursday, July 27, 2017.
