Shirley Louise Smith, 82, of Clear Spring, MD, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Sterling Care South Mountain.

Born May 16, 1941 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Elsie (Shindle) Purdham.

Shirley adored her family and her church, Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church of Big Pool. She enjoyed visiting her friends. She loved to cook and go out to eat.

Shirley is survived by her two sons, Rodney Weaver and wife, Kimberly, and Ronald Dale Weaver; four grandchildren, Ronald Dale III, Rachelle Weaver, and Raymond and Amber Morgan; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Heil; two brothers, Kenneth and Elmer Purdham; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband Harrison L. Smith, Jr., she was preceded in death by her daughter, Renee Morgan; one grandson, Ryan Weaver; and four brothers, Donald, Richard, Harold, and Ralph Purdham.

The funeral will be held at 11am on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Rev. Len Horst will officiate.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
