Shirley Jean Hiser, 79, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023. She was born on March 2, 1944 to the late Charles E. Mazingo Sr. and Dora Hensley Mazingo.

Shirley attended South Hagerstown High School. She was a lifetime member of Western Enterprise Volunteer Fire Company where she volunteered her time. Shirley was an avid bingo player and was often a social butterfly at several bingo venues and events. However, most of all, Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family and being a part of family gatherings.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Hiser Sr. and siblings, Lena M. Jenkins, Joyce A. Mazingo, Charles E. Mazingo Jr., Robert L. Mazingo, and Sharon C. Mazingo.

Shirley is survived by her children, Charles E. Hiser Jr. and his wife, Cherie, Denise Evans and her husband, Dennis, Tania Leather and her husband, Timothy, and Cherry Rohrer and her husband, Micaiah, her grandchildren, Charles "PJ" Hiser III and his wife, Ashley, Amber B. Carpino and her husband, Dave, Timothy B. Leather and his wife, Lori, Alicia M. Jones, Erica M. Palladino and her husband, Devin Mills, and Taylor N. Moser and her husband, John, numerous beloved great-grandchildren, her sister, Madeline M. Mazingo, several treasured nieces and nephews, and many cherished bingo friends.

Family and friends are welcomed for a visitation on Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard in Hagerstown.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 9:30am at the funeral home. Layspeaker Ann Mazingo will officiate.

Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown.
