SHIRLEY JEAN FUNK, 74, of Hancock, Maryland, died on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, Virginia. Born August 5, 1938, in Hagerstown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Eugene M. and Edna Louise Bowers Hoffman. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Evangelical Church. Shirley enjoyed bowling with Funksktown Suburbanites, and volunteered as statistician. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed going to the Funkstown Fire Hall and Halfway Fire Company. She liked baseball and watching the Orioles. She is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Roy Lesher Funk; one daughter, Lori Clark of Clear Spring, Maryland; one son, David Funk, and wife, Laurie, of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania; one brother, Charles (Pud) Hoffman, and wife, Henrietta, of Hagerstown; three grandchildren, Cory Clark, Garrett Funk, and Cole Funk; and a niece, Kristina Hoffman. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Tuesday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. Thomas L. Perry will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Monday from 7 to 9 p. m. at the funeral home.
