SHAWN MICHAEL WHITTINGTON, 38, of Hagerstown, Maryland, died Monday, September 30, 2013 in Hagerstown, Maryland. Born December 24, 1974 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Terry Whittington and Jacqueline Shuman Grove of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. Shawn was employed with Caldwell Manufacturing. He was a volunteer coach for the Washington County Girls softball League and also volunteered as an umpire. He was an avid outdoorsman. In addition to his mother; he is survived by his wife, Casey Alicia Whittington; four daughters, Madison Whittington of Hagerstown, MD, Grace Whittington, Willow Whittington and Sage Whittington all at home; one brother, Robert Whittington; 4 nieces and one nephew and his faithful companion, Shamus. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, October 7, 2013 at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, Md., followed by a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Pastor Jay Recto will officiate. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to any PNC Bank in trust for Madison, Grace, Willow and Sage Whittington.
