Sharon Lee Smith, born August 31, 1955, in Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2026, at the age of 71. She is reunited in heaven with her beloved mother, Virginia Moses, and her father, Jesse Moses.

Sharon is survived by her two brothers, Jesse Moses (wife Jenelle) and John Higgins (wife Joni), along with her cherished nieces, Amanda Moses and Bailey Higgins, and nephews, Austin Moses, William Moses, and James Higgins.

A lifelong resident of Hagerstown, Sharon dedicated 30 years of service to Western Maryland Hospital before retiring. She shared an extraordinary bond with her mother, Virginia — the two were inseparable best friends. They loved shopping together, taking trips to Ocean City, and attending their church, The Salvation Army, where their faith was a central part of their lives.

For the last eight years of her mother’s life, Sharon was a devoted and loving caretaker, giving her mother comfort, companionship, and unwavering support. After Virginia’s passing, Sharon embraced travel, visiting Las Vegas with her brother, Jesse and niece, Amanda, and spending a memorable month in Oregon with Jesse’s family.

Sharon will be remembered for her vivacious spirit, her warmth, and the deep love she had for her friends and family. She touched many lives and will be dearly missed.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, followed by a reception at The Salvation Army Church on George Street in Hagerstown, Maryland.
