SARAH JEAN POE, 78 formerly of 12306 Richwood Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland, died Friday, October 27, 2006 at Ravenwood Lutheran Village. Born December 11, 1927 in Fenwick, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Madelyn Blankenship Friend. Sarah enjoyed needle point and embroidery. She was involved as a volunteer with the Special Olympic of Washington County. She is survived by her loving husband of sixty years, LeRoy Bruce Poe; five daughters, Madelyn Lynn Poe and husband, Jim Ellis of Hagerstown, Maryland, Nancy Jean Hatfield and husband Ray of Pasadena, Maryland, Brenda Bruce Turowski and husband, Rick of Stevensville, Maryland, Patricia Marie Munch and husband, Henry of Hancock, Maryland and Sarah Elaine Poe of Hagerstown, Maryland; one brother, Paul V. Friend of Summerville, West Virginia; nine grandchildren, Dawn Mills, Brian Mills, Richard Davis, Robert Davis, Rick Turowski, Michael Turowski, Stephanie Turowski. Kelsie Munch, Kody Munch and five great grandchildren, Dayne Mills, Tristin Davis, Logan Turowski, Tyler Turowski and Hunter. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jesse Atknson and Janet O'Dell; three brothers, James Friend, Merle Friend and Gerald Friend. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown, Maryland. The Rev. Blaine E. Feightner will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friend on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
