SARAH ELLEN HERRMANN, 84, of Boonsboro, Maryland, died Friday, August 31, 2012 at Fahrney-Keedy Home & Village in Boonsboro, Maryland. Born February 27, 1928 in Beaver Creek, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Tom O. and Hazel Rohrer Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin J. Herrmann, Jr. on May 5, 1985. She was previously employed with Fahrney-Keedy Home & Village as a nurse's aid. She was a member of Beaver Creek Christian Church, Longmeadow Ladies Bowling League, American Legion, Boonsboro Post 10 Auxiliary and the AARP. She is survived by a daughter, Major USA (Ret.) Hazel L. Morton of Berkeley Springs, WV; a son, MMI USN (Ret.) Franklin J. Herrmann, III of Grottoes VA; two sisters, June Schmidt of Boonsboro, and Betty Russo of South Bend, IN; Daughter-In-Law, Karen Herrmann and fianc Steve Carbaugh of Greencastle; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, CW4 USAR (Ret.) Thomas C. Herrmann; three sisters, and three brothers. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. J. Mark Curran will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
