Sara Jean Horn, 88, of Hagerstown, passed away, Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Meritus Medical Center. Born February 24, 1933 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Pearl Wellinger. Sara loved her family and watching her grandchildren. She enjoyed QVC, HSN, playing the slots and going on vacation. She hosted the family reunions and provided lots of good food. Sara was co-founder, along with her husband, of Hopewell Sheet Metal Manufacturing, Inc. where she served as secretary and treasurer until her retirement in 2000. She was a longtime member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and volunteered with the food bank. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert Horn and grandson, Taylor Horn. Sara is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Mogensen (Rick) and Diane Baker (Mark); one son, Dave Horn (Heather); two grandchildren, Michael and Angie Mogensen; and a special sister-in-law, Mary Shoop. Funeral Services will be held 11AM Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Pastor Ron Schlak will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday, November 15, 2021 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
