Samuel Martin Sheppard, Sr., 82, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Monday, July 24, 2023, at his home.

Born December 11, 1940, in Round Hill, VA, he was the son of the late William and Ola (Costello) Sheppard.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a talented musician and worked in the construction field.

Samuel is survived by his daughter, Tamarah Hose; son, Samuel M. Sheppard, Jr. (wife, Rhonda); two grandchildren, Andrew Stone Sheppard and Jeremy Daniel Perley; sister, Bunny Higginbothan; and his brother, David Francis Sheppard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Jean Sheppard and his sister, Grace Kuykendahl.

The funeral service will begin at 12pm on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Jonathan Hibbert will officiate. Burial will be in the Brownsville Cemetery in Brownsville, MD. American Legion, Boonsboro Post 10 will provide graveside military honors.

The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
