Samuel Harrison Chapman II, 85, a lifelong resident of Rockville, MD, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at his home in Hagerstown, MD.

Born July 24, 1939 in Saltville, VA, he was the son of the late Samuel and Allie (Hunt) Chapman.

Samuel cherished his family deeply and had a profound love for the outdoors, often finding joy in fishing and hunting. He was a devoted Redskins fan and enthusiastic supporter of Virginia Tech. He was an avid reader and would read the Washington Post regularly.

Sam is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia Chapman; his daughters, Brenda St. Angelo (Tony), Mary Ulloa, and Donna Jolly; his sons, Samuel Chapman III (Teresa), Eddie Chapman, and Nathaniel Beckwith; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and his sister, Martha Brown.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine siblings.

Services will be at the convenience of the family.
