SAMMIE LEE ALGER, 82, of Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Julia Manor Nursing Home. Born December 17, 1929, in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Hugh Leo and Zelda Irene Youngblood Alger. He served in the U. S. Army. He was employed by Hugh Leo Alger, painting contractor. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Hagerstown. He is survived by one brother, Hugh Sterling Alger; and a friend, Mildred Ecker of Hagerstown. Services will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing. Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown.
