Obituary

RUTH EMMA TURNER, 88, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014 at her home. Born December 26, 1926 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late William and Hattie Blair Stallings. Ruth was employed with Turner's Interior as the sewing room foreman. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Funkstown, and the Women's Auxiliary of the Elks Club. Ruth was an avid bowler, involved with many leagues. Ruth is survived by her husband of 64 years, Samuel Hunter Turner; three step-daughters, Minnie Marie Morehead of Hagerstown, Linda Lou Deibert of Falling Waters, WV, and Jenny Lee Nowak of Toledo, Ohio; one sister, Helen Kershner of Funkstown; fifteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. Services will be held 11am, Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. The Rev. Michael K. Louia will officiate. The burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
